The longest undeveloped shore in the U.S., a national treasure! This is a critical habitat for the Kemps Ridley sea turtle, an endangered species that comes to the island to lay their eggs. Call ahead for beach conditions! Four-wheel drive vehicles are sometimes necessary and it is an isolated place. Bring a trash bag to help clean up your own trash and the trash that washes up (you can get one from the office). Build a beach fire and enjoy the seashore as it was meant to be!

Mustang Riding Stables- open daily 9:00am – 5:00 pm 16562 S.P.I.D 361-749-5055
Ride horses on the beach! Horse rides are on the hour, arrive 10 minutes early for the hour you would like to ride. Cost is $40.00 for adults, $30.00 for children under 12.

Fishing - great anytime of the year!
Port A has many Fishing Charters to choose from. There are fishing guides available in the office or at the Chamber of Commerce. Try the Horace Caldwell pier on the beach or the jetties too for other great fishing opportunities. Many restaurants will “cook your catch” too!
